Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 12-hour night shift hospital assignment requiring at least one year of experience and Med/Surg or Step-down background.
Details
- Hospital-based Medicine Specialty unit (3rd Floor Overflow)
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
- May be floated to any area of the hospital
- Med/Surg and Step-down experience required for this unit
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Basic computer skills required
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Assess, monitor, and document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments
- Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicate care plans and hospital procedures to patients and families
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
- Compliance documentation and onboarding requirements must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed
- Travelers may only extend once for a maximum of 26 weeks before requiring a 6-month separation prior to reapplying
