Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring Med/Surg and stepdown experience with float flexibility across the hospital.
Details
- Hospital-based position on the 3rd Floor Overflow unit within a Medicine Specialty department
- Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
- Med/Surg and stepdown experience required
- May be floated to any area of the hospital
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
Additional Information
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
- Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
- Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
- Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer to allow for compliance clearance
- Returning workers may only extend a contract once for a maximum of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
