Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 3+ years of L&D experience and AWHONN certification.
Details
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital, which includes 7 L&D beds, 14 Mother/Baby beds, and a Level 2 NICU/Newborn Nursery
- Patient ratios are approximately 2:1 for L&D, 6-8:1 for Mother/Baby, and 1-4:1 for NICU depending on acuity
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and labor inductions (cook cath, cervidil, oxytocin)
- Perform IV insertion, lab draws, sterile vaginal exams, epidural assistance, and foley catheter placement
- Use Alaris pumps, Corometrics 250 series fetal monitors, Monica monitors, and Ranger fluid warmers
- EMR systems used include Meditech Expanse and CPN (Centricity Perinatal)
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required (Friday and Saturday nights)
- Must be able to circulate for cesarean sections
Requirements
- Active KY RN license or compact license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of hospital experience required
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, 5+ years preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN (intermediate or advanced)
- Must be able to circulate for cesarean section deliveries
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- Facility provides scrubs for infant security purposes
- Candidates must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
