Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ year of experience for a 13-week day shift assignment in critical care and NICU settings.
Details
- Hospital-based Respiratory Care department
- Supports Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, NICU, and Pediatrics patient populations
- Performs CPAP/BiPAP, chest physiotherapy, aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry, ventilator management, pulmonary screens, hemodynamic monitoring, and pulse oximetry
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- May float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital located approximately 15 minutes away
- Epic charting experience required
Requirements
- High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
- Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) credential from the NBRC required
- BLS certification from the AHA required upon hire
- ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications preferred
- Critical Care and NICU experience preferred
- Trauma Level I and Community Hospital experience preferred
- State license required if applicable
Additional Information
- Perform a full scope of respiratory care procedures including ventilator management, airway suctioning, and pulmonary hygiene
- Provide care for neonatal and pediatric patients including bronchopulmonary dysplasia, RSV, and respiratory distress syndrome
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and intubation procedures
- Participate in departmental education, performance improvement programs, and new project initiatives as needed
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Complete facility-required training modules prior to start and annually
- Former Salem Health permanent employees must wait six months after termination before applying to travel positions
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
