Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring 2 years of current strong Surgical ICU experience and an MD or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a 20-bed adult Surgical ICU within the Department of Surgery
  • Diverse patient population including trauma, GI surgery, ortho/neuro spine, transplant, vascular, surgical ENT, and general surgery cases
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 36 hours per week with hours not guaranteed
  • Weekend requirement of 3 out of 6 weekends per 6-week schedule
  • Call requirement of 2 AVL call shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Float as needed to areas of like skill set
  • Holiday coverage required as needed

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of current, strong Surgical ICU experience required
  • Critical Care Certification, trauma course completion, ACLS, and EPIC experience preferred
  • 2 previous travel assignments preferred
  • Experience at a comparable facility size preferred, with 500+ bed facility experience preferred for large academic centers

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to ICU and post-surgical ICU patients across multiple surgical specialties
  • Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate for most facilities
  • Strong candidates preferred for main campus assignments
