Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Neuro/Ortho unit requiring BLS, ACLS, and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Neuro/Ortho unit on the 4th floor of a hospital heart hospital building
• 25-bed unit with 40+ staff including RNs, PCTs, and a unit coordinator
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 unit coordinator, 3 PCTs, and 5 RNs
• Night shift staffing includes 5 RNs and 1 PCT
• Patient ratios of 6:1, sometimes 5:1
• Uses Baxter IV pumps, KCI wound vacs, and SCD pumps
• Meditech EMR used
• 13-week assignment with a 7A-7P shift schedule

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry experience required
• Meditech experience preferred
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Ability to manage chest tubes preferred
• Ability to manage non-titrated Cardizem and Amiodarone drips preferred
• Ability to manage weight-based heparin drips preferred
• General med/surg competencies required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs required
• Provide nursing care to neuro/ortho telemetry patients
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
