Description
American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN for a Critical Care Float role requiring a WI or compact RN license and academic Level I trauma center experience.
Details
- Float pool position covering multiple ICU units such as Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery, along with IMC/Progressive/General care populations
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 1900-0730
- Every other weekend and some holiday coverage required
- Floating required as needed across various ICU units
- Epic EMR system used
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only) required
- NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- 5 years of overall nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
- Experience in an academic Level I trauma center required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella, and CVP monitoring
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and IV insulin protocols
- Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Experience managing neuro patients including EVD, ICP monitoring, and stroke care
- Must pass a telemetry certification exam prior to starting the assignment, with strict passing criteria for both adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties within an academic Level I trauma center
- Work at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked the #1 hospital in Wisconsin
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Telemetry exam allows two attempts to pass; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
- Travel experience in an academic Level I trauma center required
