Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 1+ years of experience to work in a Level I Trauma teaching hospital's imaging department.
Details
- Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital with Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designations
- MRI department serves 40-45 patients per day
- Adult and pediatric patients from ED, ICU, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses
- Uses Siemens 1.5T magnets and EPIC EMR
- 8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- No floating required
- No rotation between weekdays and weekends; consistent shift schedule per contract
- Call requirement shared fairly among full-time, part-time, PRN, and traveler staff
Requirements
- ARRT(R) or NMTCB certification required
- ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification required
- Current BLS certification required
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Strong clinical skills with ability to work in a fast-paced, high patient acuity environment
- Good communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge title
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

- Support structure includes a lead tech, modality supervisor, and imaging manager
- Diverse team ranging from new graduates to long-tenured staff
- Facility and departmental orientation includes a tour and introductions, typically 5 days but flexible based on traveler needs
- Holiday coverage expected unless time off is approved in advance
- Time off requests require manager approval
- Black scrubs required for technologists
- Free parking available across several parking decks
- Department culture emphasizes teamwork and high clinical skill in a fast-paced environment
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Previous employees must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
