Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and AWHONN certification.

Details

• LDRP unit providing care to both mother and baby
• Low-volume unit with approximately 100 births annually, though cases can be higher acuity/high risk
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7p-7a), scheduled as 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend requirements determined by departmental needs
• Float requirement to MedSurg, CNA, secretary, and/or helping hands roles as needed
• Uses Centricity and Meditech Magic charting systems

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, NRP, BLS, AWHONN (Intermediate or Advanced), and Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
• STABLE certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
• Strong autonomous nursing skills required due to small department size
• Prior experience in low/moderate volume L&D departments preferred
• Centricity charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to both mother and baby in an LDRP setting
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Weekly orientation schedule
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 50 miles of the facility
• Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees (PERM/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying and disclose prior employment details for facility approval
• Current travel per diem clinicians must choose between per diem or travel status, not both
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved excluding holidays; no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Travel pairs allowed if placed on different units with separate transportation and schedules
• Lab testing and all required testing must be completed within 48 hours of signing
