Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Nephrology unit position requiring NM or compact RN license and prior Med/Surg experience.

Details

• 24-bed Nephrology unit that functions as an extension of Med/Surg
• Geriatric and adult patient population with common diagnoses including ESRD, peritoneal dialysis, and hemodialysis
• Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6
• Uses VS machines, bladder scanners, lifts, thermal imaging, and IV pumps/tubes
• Cerner EHR system used
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend work required at least 2 shifts per month per facility policy
• No call requirements
• Floating required as needed per facility needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification (must be AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred
• ADN required
• Med/Surg experience required
• Charge Nurse and Nephrology experience preferred but not required
• Observation Unit experience a plus

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care within a Level III trauma center
• Various Level I, II, and III trauma cases may be flown into the facility due to its regional location
• Serves the Four Corners region spanning New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
• Facility offers services including medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth, cancer care, and behavioral health
• Area competency exam and skills checklist required, with a minimum overall rating of 3.2 on the skills checklist
