Description
American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Medical/Surgical position requiring NM or compact RN licensure and BLS certification.
Details
- Acute Observation unit within a hospital Med/Surg department
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract assignment
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Weekend requirement of 2 to 4 shifts per month, rotated among staff
- On-call requirement of 2 to 4 shifts per month, rotated among staff
- Floating required to all Med/Surg departments within the facility
- Uses EPIC EMR system
- Full-time work type
Requirements
- Active New Mexico RN license or compact state RN license required
- BLS certification via AHA required
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care utilizing the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation
- Administers medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Grey scrubs required as part of dress code
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
- Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment
