Description
American Traveler seeks a Clinic RN for Radiation Oncology with an active CO RN license, BLS/ACLS certification, and at least 2 years of RN Radiation Oncology experience.
Details
- Clinic setting within a Radiation Oncology department
- Oncology patient population
- Schedule of four 10-hour shifts on weekdays
- 13-week assignment length
- Guaranteed hours do not apply on holidays
Requirements
- Active CO RN license in good standing (license required if applicable)
- BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience specifically in Radiation Oncology (not general Oncology)
- Nursys verification of license required for consideration
- Proof of flu vaccination required with no exemptions accepted
Additional Information
- Collaborate with the Radiation Oncology team to provide continuity and quality patient care
- Assess patients and implement nursing interventions related to disease process, treatment, and follow-up
- Provide teaching, counseling, and support to patients and families coping with cancer diagnosis and treatment
- Assist the Radiation Oncologist in patient evaluation and examination
- Serve as liaison between Radiation Oncology and other departments, physician offices, and support groups
- Coordinate referrals for rehabilitation, nursing home care, hospice, and nutritional services
- Requires ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Requires strong written and verbal communication with multidisciplinary team members
- Requires knowledge of chronic illness and comorbidity management
- Requires current knowledge of oncology, immunology, pharmacology, and cultural sensitivity practices
- Candidate's permanent address must be at least 75 miles from the facility, with no local candidates accepted
