Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring Level I trauma CVICU experience and PALS certification.
Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU (Cardio PICU) of a hospital environment
- Cares for pediatric patients with complex cardiovascular health problems
- Days shift, 12 hours per day, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients
- Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Obtains and monitors physiological data, intervening as necessary
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact eNLC) currently in hand
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), both issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
- CVICU experience in a Level I trauma setting required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
Additional Information
- Assists physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and notes changes in physician orders
- Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
- Extensions limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying for another contract
