Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a night-shift stepdown unit role requiring at least one year of ICU experience at a Level I trauma facility.
Details
- Work in the Pediatric ICU Stepdown unit of a Level I trauma hospital
- Night shift schedule of 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience required
- Level I trauma experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of pediatric ICU patients
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and communicate changes in physician orders
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitor physiological data and intervene as needed based on patient condition
- Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
- Coordinate care planning and discharge communication with patients and families
- Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Extensions are limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
- Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
- Onboarding requirements such as drug screens and background checks must begin immediately upon offer
