Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a night-shift stepdown unit role requiring at least one year of ICU experience at a Level I trauma facility.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU Stepdown unit of a Level I trauma hospital
• Night shift schedule of 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of pediatric ICU patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and communicate changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitor physiological data and intervene as needed based on patient condition
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Coordinate care planning and discharge communication with patients and families
• Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Extensions are limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
• Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
• Onboarding requirements such as drug screens and background checks must begin immediately upon offer
