Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a NH or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.

Details

• Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting within a hospital environment
• Day shift schedule
• 13-week assignment length
• Defined workweek runs Sunday 12:01am through Saturday 11:59pm

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (ACLS not required for Pre-Admission Testing or Operating Room)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training preferred or obtained prior to completion of orientation
• 3 years' critical care experience preferred
• Graduate of an approved Nursing program preferred
• Basic Dysrhythmia certification preferred or obtained prior to completion of orientation
• NIHSS certification preferred or obtained prior to completion of orientation
• Ability to safely administer procedural sedation and pass annual sedation examination
• Experience assisting with insertion of Flow wire, Opsens, and IVUS preferred
• Must demonstrate knowledge of contraindications and reversal for IV adenosine infusion

Additional Information

• Render professional nursing care within the assigned unit in support of medical care as directed by medical staff
• Complete comprehensive clinical documentation and care plans for all assigned patients in a timely manner
• Communicate patient information for continuity and safe care through hand-offs, walking rounds, and provider interaction
• Complete hourly rounding in collaboration with Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs)
• Collaborate with nurses across departments and units to resolve conflicts and address patient care needs
• Participate in quality improvement planning and DNV survey readiness
• Work within a Just Culture environment to promote error reporting and safe practices
• Practice reflects knowledge of current standards including ANA and NH Nurse Practice Act
