Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications along with at least two years of experience.

Details

• Work in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
• Care for patients ranging from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies
• Variable shift schedule including day/evening flex with start times of 07, 09, 11, 13, and 15
• 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift
• Shifts may include nights
• Agency nurses may float to other qualified departments before core staff are floated

Requirements

• Active RN license in the State of Oregon
• Minimum two years of experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• BSN desired but not required
• CRASE training required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
• Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
• Ability to work under pressure in high-stress, unpredictable situations
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and continuously stand or walk during shifts

Additional Information

• Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms
• Triage patients based on severity of condition
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments per physician orders
• Perform emergency procedures such as wound care and splinting
• Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and adjust interventions as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff
• Document patient care accurately in EHR or paper charts as required
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, procedures, and follow-up care
• Respond to rapid response calls and code blue situations
• Follow infection control protocols to protect patients and staff
• Work environment includes exposure to infectious disease, hazardous materials, and occasionally combative patients
