Description

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN for a night shift observation unit position requiring an active MA RN license and strong telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed telemetry observation unit for patients being ruled out for various medical diagnoses, typically 24-48 hour stays
• Patient population is primarily medical with occasional surgical overflow, no medication drips administered
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• On-call requirement of 5-6 night shifts in a 6-week period, 22:00-07:00
• Floating required within scope to Med/Surg Tele units as needed
• Uses Cerner EMR, experience preferred but not required
• Acute care hospital setting with 127 staffed beds

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required, 3 years strongly preferred
• Strong telemetry skills with ability to function autonomously
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• First-time travelers considered only with 2-3 years of experience and either Epic or Cerner charting experience

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care to observation patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Local candidates accepted
• Return staff must wait one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Scrub requirements allow any color scrubs except jean material; business casual or scrubs for case management staff
• Finalized RTO must be submitted upfront and cannot be added after signing
• Standard contract length is 14 weeks
