Description

American Traveler is seeking a Level IV NICU-trained Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of NICU or combined critical care/NICU experience.

Details

• Level IV NICU setting within a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Willing to work Adult floor, ICU, and Level IV NICU as needed
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend shifts as needed by unit
• Floating within hospital required; no floating to sister hospitals
• No on-call requirements
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Utilizes Servo U ventilators, high frequency oscillators, and jet ventilators
• Cares for patients requiring ECMO, Nitric Oxide therapy, and neonatal transports

Requirements

• Active RRT certification required
• Washington State Respiratory license required (license required if applicable)
• BLS and NRP certification required
• ACLS and PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience combining Adult critical care and NICU, or NICU (Level III/IV) experience alone
• Adult-only RRT experience does not meet requirement
• Teaching hospital experience required
• LTAC and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Proficiency in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway management required
• Experience with high-risk delivery assistance, Bubble CPAP, and oscillating ventilators required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU settings
• Perform medication delivery via aerosol setups, MDIs, and nebulizers
• Manage patients with ARDS, aspiration, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomies
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports
• Perform chest physiotherapy, arterial blood gas draws, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and manage weaning from mechanical ventilation
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
• RTO limited to 1 week maximum; cannot be requested during first 2 weeks or orientation
• Prior UW staff must have 18 months separation before returning as a traveler
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• Scrubs of any color permitted; scrubs provided for OR personnel
