Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a CT or compact RN license and TNCC/ACLS/BLS certifications.

Details

  • Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Level I Trauma Center with STEMI and Stroke Certified designations
  • Average patient ratio of 1:5-6 for both day and night shifts
  • Day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Cross-training and floating between multiple hospital campuses required
  • Assigned to one primary campus with possibility of rotating to others
  • Travelers are not assigned to trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units
  • Guaranteed hours included in this assignment
  • Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

  • Active RN license (CT or Compact) required, pending license accepted
  • BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
  • CPI and ENPC certifications preferred
  • 2 years of ER experience preferred, will consider 1.5 years from a Level I trauma or comparable hospital
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Teaching hospital and Level I/II trauma center experience preferred
  • Experience with Epic charting system preferred
  • Skills managing pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and trauma emergencies required
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring required
  • 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, and neurological cases
  • Facility is a large academic Level I Trauma Center with over 1,500 staffed beds
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
  • Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
  • Requests for RTO greater than 7 days require additional approval
  • Flu vaccination is required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID-19 booster required unless a religious or medical exemption applies
  • Travelers must be prepared to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
