Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a GA or Compact license and 2+ years of ER experience.

Details

• Emergency Department setting
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• 22-week assignment length
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, TNCC
• Experience with respiratory care and ventilated patients
• Experience with medication administration including continuous IV sedation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Triage skills required
• Copies of required certifications needed for consideration
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this unit
• Provide emergency department nursing care including triage and cardiac monitoring
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall during the assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• If 1-2 holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if 3 holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
• The listed shift schedule is firm with no alternate shift or schedule requests permitted
• Full compliance required by start date, as delays may result in a two-week push back due to biweekly orientation scheduling
• Former Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who cancelled or received a facility DNR must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
