Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN with a minimum of 2 years of experience and at least one prior travel assignment for a fast-paced surgical unit.
Details
- Operating Room setting within a hospital
- Day shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts, options for 6:00-19:00 or 11:00-23:00
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity
- On-call requirement of 6 calls per 6-week schedule
- Weekend requirement of 1 shift per 6-week schedule
- Performs specialized procedures including total joints, spine, craniotomy, free flaps, cyto reduction, ENT/OMF, and bariatric surgeries
- Supports surgical specialties including General OR, Bariatrics, ENT, Neurology, Orthopedics, and Urology
Requirements
- Active DC RN license required in hand prior to start date; pending DC license accepted with proof of pending status
- BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience within the last 7 years required
- At least 1 previous travel assignment required for consideration
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
- Experience with a variety of surgical procedures including spinal fusion, craniotomy, laparoscopic cases, total joint replacement, and ENT procedures preferred
- Skills in specialties such as Neurology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, ENT, Plastics, and Bariatrics preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers with the required 2 years of experience will be considered
- Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
- Scrub color is ceil blue if not provided by the facility
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
- Nurses with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a travelers
- Manager interviews are not guaranteed; candidates should be comfortable proceeding without one
