Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital assignment requiring at least one year of experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
Adult to geriatric patient population
1:6 patient ratio
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
Uses Epic (preferred), Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems
Floating required within the facility and scope of practice as needed
No on-call requirements
Weekend rotation typically 2 per 6-week scheduling period

Requirements

Active GA or compact RN license required
BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
Skilled in heparin administration, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams required
Navy blue scrubs required

Additional Information

Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract
Holiday coverage required per facility policy: work all holidays if 1-2 major holidays fall within the assignment, or 2 of 3 if three major holidays occur (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day)
Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
Returning travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for one full year before returning
