Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Float Pool RN with an active MA license, 4+ years of recent acute care experience and telemetry skills to float across multiple units.
Details
- Float pool role covering M7 (med surg: ortho, urology, neurology, GYN), 6W (cardiology/telemetry), 7E (surgery) and CMS6 (cardio-thoracic) units
- Unit bed counts: M7 has 30 beds, 6W has 32 beds, 7E has 30 beds, CMS6 has 16 beds
- Average patient ratio of 5:1
- 12-hour AM shifts, 7a-7:30a, totaling 36 hours per week
- Works every other weekend and every other holiday
- Uses Meditech for charting; EPIC experience strongly preferred
- Requires ability to adapt quickly to different unit environments
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
- 4+ years of recent acute care experience required
- Some stepdown experience needed for night shift coverage
- Must have completed at least one recent successful travel contract
- Must be able to independently read telemetry strips and pass an onsite telemetry exam on Day 1 with 84% or better (up to 2 attempts)
- Psych experience highly preferred
- EPIC EMR experience strongly preferred
- 5+ years of previous float pool experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care across multiple med surg, telemetry, surgical and cardio-thoracic units as part of a float pool team
- No extended RTO permitted; most Fridays will be required with no specific schedule requests accommodated
- Must pass a Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia competency test (up to 2 attempts)
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a local rate
