Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring an active MA RN license and 4+ years of recent acute care experience.

Details

• Float pool role covering multiple units: M7 (med surg – ortho, urology, neurology, GYN), 6W (cardiology/telemetry), 7E (surgery), and CMS6 (cardio-thoracic)
• Average patient ratio of 5:1
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7p-7:30a), 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Most Fridays required with no specific schedule requests accommodated
• Uses Meditech for charting; Epic experience strongly preferred
• Requires ability to adapt quickly across different units

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 4+ years of recent acute care experience required
• Some stepdown experience needed for night shift
• Must be able to independently read telemetry strips and pass an on-site exam on Day 1 with 84% or better (2 attempts allowed)
• Must have completed 1 recent successful travel contract
• Psych experience highly preferred
• 5+ years of previous float pool experience preferred

Additional Information

• Float pool nurses will rotate across med surg, telemetry, surgical, and cardio-thoracic units based on facility need
• No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested, and no extended RTO is permitted
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted
