Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele Float RN for a night shift hospital position requiring an active TN or compact RN license and 2+ years of experience.

Details

• Float pool position within a hospital setting, covering MS/Tele, ER Holding, or PCU/Stepdown units based on skill and need
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend nights per 6-week schedule plus holidays as needed
• Uses Cerner EMR and Omnicell medication system

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; NIHSS may be obtained after offer; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Must be able to pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access and management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula use, and oxygen administration required
• Certifications and licensure must be in hand at time of consideration and not expire within 45 days of the start date

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across MS/Tele, ER Holding, and PCU/Stepdown units depending on facility need and clinical experience
• Floating is conducted in accordance with hospital policy, including appropriate orientation to new units
• No RTO permitted during major holidays or surrounding holiday weeks, including Valentine's Day, Spring Break, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Fall Break, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• RTO cannot occur within 14 days of the start date and cannot exceed 7 days
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced rate
• Travel rate eligibility requires a permanent address greater than 75 miles from the facility
• Former perm staff cannot return to the same campus within 24 months but may return to a different Covenant Health campus after 12 months
• Travel team members who are married or related cannot be placed on the same unit
• Proof of residency documents (lease/mortgage statement and a utility bill) must be provided within 48 hours if offered
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
