Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position on night shift requiring a TN or compact RN license and fetal monitoring certification.
Details
- Work in the Women's Services unit's Labor & Delivery department within the main hospital building
- 9 L&D beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and a 3-bed OB ED
- Patient ratio of 1-2
- Unit supported by unit secretary, scrub tech, dedicated in-house CRNA and midwife 24/7, and on-call OBGYN
- Documentation systems used include CPN and Meditech
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Required to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- May float to Mother/Baby or other departments for tasks as needed
- Unit performs procedures including circulating in the OR, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4, postpartum hemorrhage management with the JADA system, and nitrous oxide administration
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition), and Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced, or NCCEFM)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Labor & Delivery required
- No certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment start
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Provide labor and delivery nursing care with a focus on supporting patient choice and promoting vaginal birth opportunities
- Experience with Spinning Babies and STABLE techniques is helpful but not required
- Unit follows a laborist team model with 24/7 midwives and dedicated CRNA and OB on-call support
- Postpartum unit practices couplet care, keeping newborns bedside to promote breastfeeding, with donor milk available when needed
- Unit includes an 8-bed Level 2 NICU with 24/7 dedicated NNP support, available for high-risk deliveries
- Required to maintain a patient experience score above 75%
- Unit dress code requires hot pink and black scrubs, with hot pink preferred on top
- Recognized as an HCA Unit of Distinction in 2021 and serves as a TIPQC pilot hospital for NTSV and Team Birth initiatives
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
