Description
American Traveler is hiring an Outpatient Occupational Therapist with 3+ years of experience for a hand clinic setting in a teaching hospital environment.
Details
- Outpatient OT setting within a hand clinic
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Adult outpatient patient population with hand and upper extremity focus
- Possible floating to other nearby campus facilities within a 75+ mile radius
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Current CA OT license required (license required if applicable)
- AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Hand clinic and adult outpatient experience preferred
- CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) credential preferred
- AOTA Hand/UE certification preferred
- PAM (modalities) certification in CA preferred
- MS/MA degree preferred
- Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
Additional Information
- Treat patients with hand injuries, nerve injuries, tendon repairs, arthritis, and other upper extremity orthopedic conditions
- Perform evaluations, assessments, plans of care, reassessments, and discharge planning
- Utilize modalities and manual skills including edema massage, electrical stimulation, kinesiotaping, myofascial release, paraffin bath, splinting, TENS, and ultrasound
- Fabricate and apply dynamic, functional, and static splints using materials such as Orthoplast
- Provide patient and family education, home exercise programs, and safety/injury prevention guidance
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- All requested time off must be disclosed and approved at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and none permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed for a rehire eligibility review
