Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level 3 NICU position requiring a minimum of 2-3 years of NICU experience and proficiency with vents, oscillators, pressors, and micro preemies.
Details
- Level 3 NICU setting caring for neonates primarily admitted from labor and delivery
- Patient population ranges from as early as 23 weeks gestation to 4 months
- Responds to neonatal emergencies, attending all C-sections and high-risk deliveries
- Treats conditions including extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome
- Provides noninvasive nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, High Frequency Oscillation, and nitric oxide inhalation therapy
- 3x12 night shift schedule
- 36 hours per week over 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
- Current STABLE, NRP, and BLS certifications required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2-3 years of Level 3 NICU experience required
- Must be proficient with vents, oscillators, pressors, and care of micro preemies
- Experience performing bedside procedures including peripheral IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter insertions, and parenteral therapy
- Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months with at least one from the most recent employer
Additional Information
- Provide assessment and immediate care to newborns post-delivery requiring closer observation
- Assist with bronchopulmonary hygiene, medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and parent teaching
- Most diagnostic services are provided at the bedside
- Must live 100 miles or more from the facility, no local candidates accepted
