Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a compact or OK RN license and ACLS certification.
Details
- Work in the Surgery Recovery Room providing post-anesthesia care
- Care for patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and diagnostic procedures
- 13-week assignment with a scheduled shift of 09:00-21:30
- ASAP start requested
Requirements
- Active RN license (Standard or Compact), OK state license accepted
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of PACU or related critical-care nursing experience
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and emergency-response skills
Additional Information
- Monitor patients during the immediate post-anesthesia period, managing pain, nausea, and identifying complications
- Coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team and carry out physician and nursing orders
- Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
- Work independently using critical thinking and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
- Follow Standard Precautions using required personal protective equipment
- Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply that affects pay rate
- Discuss potential contract extension with the manager approximately 45 days before the assignment end date
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position
