Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist with ARDMS certification and experience in transplants, dopplers, and renal artery stenosis for a Ultrasound/Vascular Lab position.
Details
- Ultrasound/Vascular Lab setting performing abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, and some vascular exams
- 10-hour evening shifts with rotating times and weekends, 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM
- 40 hours per week over a 26-week assignment
- Shares on-call duties (24-hour coverage) with fellow sonographers after reaching required expertise
- Performs procedures both within the Ultrasound Suite and in other areas including OR, ICU, ED, and nursing floors using portable equipment
Requirements
- ARDMS certification required; ARDMS ABD and RVT preferred
- Experience with transplants, dopplers, and renal artery stenosis required
- MA license required if applicable
- Proficiency selecting appropriate equipment and transducers for ordered tests
- Experience assisting physicians during sterile invasive procedures such as amniocenteses, cyst punctures, thoracenteses, and biopsies
- Experience recording images on PACS and providing preliminary interpretations
- Experience performing high level disinfection of intracavitary transducers using systems such as Trophon EPR
Additional Information
- Interviews patients, explains procedures, and positions patients appropriately for exams
- Reviews charts and detects pathology or other diagnostic factors during exams
- Serves as a team resource for technical information, training, and guidance to fellow sonographers
- May provide preliminary interpretation in daily logbook and convey findings to requesting physician after discussion with radiologist
- Requires COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine, with medical exemptions allowed
- Weekly orientation occurs every Monday, barring holidays
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Previous BILH employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a 6-month break before returning
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 1 week of time off approved
- Parking costs up to $43 per day
