Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and AWHONN Intermediate or CEFM certification.

Details

• Work in a 12-bed Labor & Delivery unit within a Women's and Children's building
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Unit staffed with RNs, unit secretary, and OR techs
• Documentation systems used include CPN and Meditech
• Procedures performed on the unit include vaginal deliveries, c-sections, D&C, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, and tub labor
• Schedule consists of 3 12-hour shifts with 3 weekend shifts and 1 call shift required per scheduling period
• Travelers are required to float first per unit policy
• Unit emphasizes shared decision making in patient experience

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
• 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (not Advanced) or CEFM
• Skilled in care of the laboring patient and immediate newborn care
• Experience circulating and recovering C-section patients required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care to laboring patients including delivery support and immediate newborn care
• Circulate and recover cesarean section patients as part of unit responsibilities
• Scrub colors required are Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
