Description
American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist - Special Procedures with at least 1 year of experience to work independently in a pediatric IR unit, requiring ARRT-R and WA state licensure.
Details
- Level II pediatric trauma center with 152 total beds, including 70 NICU beds, in a newly built facility
- Interventional Radiology unit serving patients ages 0-18 with all types and diagnoses
- Cross-trained to general X-ray to help cover duties if IR census is low
- 10-hour day shifts, 7 on/7 off schedule, Thursday-Wednesday 0700-1730
- 35 hours per week
- Weekend rotation every other week as part of the 7 on/7 off schedule
- No on-call requirements
- Sole IR/Procedural Tech on duty, requiring independent work
- May float to assist with procedures in CT but will not operate the scanner
- May assist with procedures in the fluoro room as needed
- Uses Siemens ArtisZee multipurpose room
- EPIC EMR, Change Healthcare PACS, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
- Any color scrubs permitted
- Free garage and street parking available, with light rail as an alternative option
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required, pediatric experience preferred
- ARRT-R certification required (lighter procedures only)
- BLS certification required
- WA state license required if applicable
- Skills required in G/GJ tubes, biopsies, ultrasound guided procedures, myelogram, joint injections, abscess drain, and drain placement
- Must be comfortable working independently as the sole IR/Procedural Tech
- No experience needed in neuro angio, body angio, or biplane procedures
- Strong communication skills across a variety of medical staff levels, from RN to MD
- Self-starter with strong multitasking abilities
- Kindness and patience required when working with pediatric patients and their families
- Ability to produce high quality diagnostic images

- Facility is a newly constructed pediatric trauma center completed in 2026
- Responsibilities include performing G/GJ tube placements, biopsies, ultrasound guided procedures, myelograms, joint injections, abscess drains, and drain placements
- Collaborates and communicates with a variety of medical staff including RNs and physicians
