Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center with a strong pediatric presence, requiring PALS, TNCC, and Epic experience.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department with combined adult/pediatric population
• Average daily census of 70 with 160 visits per day across 36 rooms and 50 beds
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7p-7:30a), 3x12 schedule, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating expected to ICU and ED under a Helping Hands/Team Nursing approach, including patient sitting
• Patients treated across the lifespan for chief complaints ranging from minor injuries to complex trauma, cardiac, neuro, psychiatric, and OB/GYN emergencies
• Performs conscious sedation, trauma alerts, stroke alerts, cath lab activations, and SANE consultations
• Utilizes Point of Care US/USGPIV, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and Teleneurology equipment
• Charting and communication systems include Epic, Omnicell, SBAR, and Voalte
• 36-hour unit orientation including one week of class and clinical time

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH state or compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience required, Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Pediatric ER experience highly preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience managing neurological emergencies and CVA care
• Proficient in administering emergency medications
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias with cardiac monitoring
• Triage experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Copies of certifications must be AHA or Red Cross issued
• Professional references required, may start with second reference pending

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of chief complaints and acuities, from minor injuries to trauma, sepsis, and psychiatric emergencies
• Assist in trauma alerts, stroke alerts, cath lab activations, and SANE consultations as part of a collaborative care team
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Background or license history issues must be approved by the facility prior to offer
• Drug screen must be completed within 14 days of start date
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced travel rate
• Previous employment with any facility associated with the health system disqualifies candidates from consideration, regardless of separation length
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
