Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a fast-paced Level II Trauma Emergency Department night shift position requiring an active NH or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ER experience.
Details
- General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric populations within a Level II Trauma Center
- Average daily census of 70 patients with approximately 160 visits per day across 36 rooms and 50 beds
- Night shift schedule of 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating expected to ICU and ED using a Helping Hands/Team Nursing approach, including patient sitting duties
- Care for a wide range of chief complaints including trauma, chest pain, respiratory distress, neurological emergencies, psychiatric emergencies, sepsis, and abuse/assault evaluations
- Utilizes Epic, Omnicell, Voalte, and SBAR communication systems
Requirements
- Active NH state RN license or compact license required
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Pediatric ER experience highly preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, and TNCC
- Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Proficient in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias and emergency medication administration
- Strong triage skills required
Additional Information
- Perform specialized procedures including conscious sedation, trauma alerts, stroke alerts, cath lab activation, and SANE consultations
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Point of Care Ultrasound/USGPIV, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and Teleneurology systems
- Unit orientation consists of 36 hours over one week combining classroom and clinical time
- Scrubs of any color are permitted
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Candidates who have previously worked as employees at any Solution Health-affiliated facility are not eligible, regardless of separation length
- Professional references are required, though candidates may begin the process with a second reference pending
- Background or license history issues must be approved by the facility prior to offer
- Drug screen must be completed within 14 days of the start date
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a reduced rate
