Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Med/Surg Neuro unit requiring MI licensure and Cerner charting experience.
Details
- 27-bed Medical/Surgical unit caring for Ortho/Neuro, Med/Surg, and Oncology patients
- Patients on general telemetry monitored remotely, no cardiac drips administered
- Typical patient population includes stroke, post back surgery, and post hip/knee replacement patients, along with oncology patients
- Night shift schedule, 2x12 hours (1900-0730)
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Patient ratio of 1:6-7
- May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals depending on volume/census
- Uses Cerner charting system
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management required
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for a mixed Med/Surg, Neuro, Ortho, and Oncology population
- Responsibilities may include CVA care, pre/post neurosurgery care, and total joint replacement recovery
- Must be willing to work 1 of 3 holidays if RTO falls during a holiday period
- Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travelers must live at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- Previous employees must have a 3-year gap before returning as a traveler
