Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring MICU/SICU experience, Epic proficiency, and an active MA RN license.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a community hospital setting
• Medical ICU and Surgical ICU patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
• Every third weekend required (Friday-Saturday)
• 36 hours per week, with 13 or 26 week contract options
• Float to ED for boarders as needed
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations - must be able to work all 7 days

Requirements

• Active MA RN license in hand required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous Medical ICU and Surgical ICU experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and HFNC experience
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip titration and continuous IV sedation
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol experience
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• IV insulin protocol experience
• 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition skills

Additional Information

• Must pass a pass/fail medication exam and a pass/fail telemetry exam during orientation, each with only one attempt allowed; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
• Study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews (FDIs)
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Must reside within 200 miles of the facility
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed in the first week
• First-time travelers not specified as accepted or excluded
