Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift role requiring adult critical care and emergency department experience.

Details

• Rotates between acute and long-term care settings for 3x12 shifts per week
• Night shift schedule (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• On-call requirement of approximately 1 night every other week if possible
• Patient population includes CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections
• Performs ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, and pulmonary hygiene
• Utilizes Hamilton, Servo-U, NKV330, AirVo2, Dream Machines, and V30 ventilators
• Manages airway devices including ET tubes, tracheostomy, and oral/nasal airways with suctioning
• Administers nebulizer treatments via hand held, T-piece, and trach collar methods
• Provides oxygen therapy including HFNC, bag and mask, and trach collar
• Manages ventilator settings including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning protocols
• Patient ratio experience of 1:20 required
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Current RRT certification required
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Adult critical care experience required
• Emergency department experience required
• Experience with endotracheal intubation, extubation, and intubation assistance required
• Experience troubleshooting high pressure ventilator alarms required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive respiratory assessment, ventilator management, and airway care across acute and long-term care units
• Scrubs must be any shade of gray or gray/black combination
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel position
