Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Critical Care Unit position requiring 2 years of neuro critical care experience and an active MD or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) of a hospital environment
- Care for patients with severe brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, and post-op neurosurgical needs, as well as nerve and muscle diseases
- Requires interfacing between neurological function and other vital organ systems
- Uses Epic EMR
- Rotating 7A/7P shifts, working 12-hour shifts totaling 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekend requirement of 3 out of every 6 weekends
- On-call requirement of 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floating required to areas of like skill set such as ICU or IMC
Requirements
- Active RN license (MD or Compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS, Critical Care Certification, and trauma course preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro Critical Care experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Comparable facility size experience required (500+ bed facility experience for this assignment)
Additional Information
- Provide specialized post-operative neurosurgical care to neurologically complex patients
- Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Strong candidates preferred given the complexity and prestige of this main hospital assignment
