Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU night shift position requiring a trauma background and travel eligibility.

Details

  • Work in the Medical ICU of a hospital setting
  • Care for patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
  • Night shift schedule of 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
  • Trauma experience required and travel eligibility required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills

Additional Information

  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and deliver competent nursing care
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and monitor changes in physician orders
  • Assist physicians with examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments
  • Administer prescribed medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Returning travelers may extend a contract only once for a maximum of 26 weeks, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying
