Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU night shift position requiring a trauma background and travel eligibility.
Details
- Work in the Medical ICU of a hospital setting
- Care for patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Night shift schedule of 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
- Trauma experience required and travel eligibility required
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
Additional Information
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and deliver competent nursing care
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and monitor changes in physician orders
- Assist physicians with examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments
- Administer prescribed medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Returning travelers may extend a contract only once for a maximum of 26 weeks, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying
- Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts once booked
