Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric Congenital CICU night shift position requiring 2+ years of cardiac critical care experience and PALS certification.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU within a Children's Hospital setting
• Care for congenital cardiac and cardiac surgical pediatric patients, including post-op inotropic/vasopressor infusions, chest tube management, and post-sternotomy open chest care
• Perform moderate sedation procedures
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio for critical care (staffing ratios estimated, not guaranteed)
• Utilizes Phillips monitors, Med fusion pumps, Baxter pumps, and specialized equipment such as Centrimag, Prismax, and Arctic Sun
• Charting performed in Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 shifts per 4-week schedule required for weekends
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active CO or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac critical care experience required
• Peritoneal dialysis, CRRT, and ECMO bedside experience preferred
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Work alongside a PICU team of 6 RNs plus additional support staff who partner to help cover the unit
• Join an experienced nursing team averaging 10 years of nursing experience with high engagement and strong culture of safety
• Collaborate with board-certified pediatric/congenital heart intensivists and a multidisciplinary team supporting patients and families through their congenital heart journey
• Unit serves as the ECMO center of the hospital, caring for complex neonatal and cardiac patients
• Ideal candidates are flexible, organized, strong communicators, and enjoy teaching and resourcing others
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered; no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered
