Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Nephrology/Medicine unit position requiring Med/Surg and stepdown experience along with dialysis site care skills.
Details
- Work in the Medicine/Nephrology unit of a hospital setting
- Care for patients with a range of health issues from simple to complex, including nephrology and dialysis-related needs
- Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State or multistate compact eNLC) required
- Current BLS certification from AHA required
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Med/Surg and stepdown experience required
- Experience with central line care and management, foley care and management, and end-of-life care required
- Knowledge of proper dialysis site care, including avoiding improper use of HD catheters or fistulas for blood draws
- Charge nurse experience is a plus
Additional Information
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and deliver competent nursing care
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and monitor physiological data
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Returning travelers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks unless otherwise agreed, and must have a 6-month separation before reapplying
- Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced, with no flexibility for push starts
