Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an IMC/PCU position requiring MD or compact licensure and prior telemetry/stepdown experience.
Details
- IMC/PCU unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
- 36 hours per week
- 10 weekend shifts required per contract
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity if census drops
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (MD state license or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required within the last 7 years
- At least 1 completed travel assignment required for consideration
- Experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown and Cardiac Telemetry required
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Cerner charting experience required
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
Additional Information
- Responsible for cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Provides care for patients with cardiac, neurological, and respiratory conditions
- Skilled in central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, chest tubes)
- Experience with wound care, insulin drip titration, and renal/dialysis management preferred
- Flu vaccine required for all employees
- Scrubs not provided; navy blue/white color scheme required
- Must complete a minimum of 1 travel assignment to be considered
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per 13-week contract
- Local candidates accepted within 60 miles at a reduced rate
- Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
