Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for an acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification with a valid CA license.
Details
- Acute care hospital with 488 staffed beds
- Nuclear Medicine department performing PET/CT and Nuclear Cardiology procedures
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- May be required to float between Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach sister facilities
- On-call not required but may be requested
- Epic EMR used for charting
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience required as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, 2 years preferred for first-time travelers
- BLS certification required
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required
- Valid CA license required if applicable
- CT Advanced Certification preferred
- PET experience highly preferred, especially 6 months in PET
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skills in bone scans, whole body scans, myocardial imaging, SPECT, thyroid studies, and renal studies
- Experience with GE, Philips, or Siemens equipment, Siemens experience should be noted if lacking
- Proficiency in drawing venous blood, starting/maintaining IVs, and handling radioactive materials
Additional Information
- Perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures including bone scans, cardiac imaging, renal studies, and PET/CT scans
- Must be open to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- First-time travelers accepted, though 2 years of experience and PET experience preferred if under 2 years
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Former Providence permanent staff may return after 3 months if outside a 50-mile radius
- RTO must be submitted at time of application, minimal RTO preferred to expedite offer
- Free parking available on-site
- Scrubs provided for OR staff, RN scrub color is royal blue
