Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position at a Level III trauma center, requiring TNCC certification and at least 2 years of ED experience.
Details
- Emergency Department setting within a short-term acute care hospital
- Level III trauma center
- Night shift schedule (3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:00)
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Every other weekend required
- No floating between units required
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required (NIHSS preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care/management
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Proficient in continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressor administration
- Skilled in respiratory management including BiPAP/CPAP and ventilated patient care
- Able to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Knowledgeable in isolation precautions/PPE and triage procedures
Additional Information
- Provide direct emergency care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of critically ill patients
- Scrubs provided for ED staff
- No parking fees at this facility
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for standard travel rate
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities within the health system
