Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring CA RN license, Epic experience, and at least 2 years of stepdown or ICU experience.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown / Cardiac Telemetry / MS-Tele setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:00-16:30)
- Cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Care for patients pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery
- Management of BiPAP/CPAP, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/PICC line care
- Blood product administration and heparin protocol management
- Cardiac drip management (no titration) and procedural sedation monitoring
- Feeding tube care and isolation precaution/PPE protocols
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Floating between sister facilities within the state may be required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Stepdown or ICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required (hard requirement)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Must provide full SSN and DOB for consideration
- Active professional license required at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac telemetry and PCU-level nursing care including dysrhythmia interpretation and emergency response
- Must disclose any prior employment history with Providence facilities (permanent, travel, or per-diem), including location and dates
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Must be willing to work 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be granted
- Candidates should not contact facility staff directly except for scheduled interviews
