Description
American Traveler is hiring a PreOp/PACU RN for a level I trauma center requiring at least two years of PreOp experience and a District of Columbia RN license.
Details
- Level I trauma center hospital setting
- PreOp and PACU patient care with complex surgical cases
- Schedule of 4x10s or 5x8s totaling 40 hours per week
- On-call responsibilities possible
Requirements
- Active RN license in the District of Columbia required, no pending licenses accepted
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- BSN highly desired
- Minimum 2 years PreOp experience required in a hospital setting, surgicenter experience not accepted
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- CPAN, TNCC, and CCRN certifications highly desirable
- Ability to think critically and work independently required
Additional Information
- Monitor post-operative patients' recovery and consciousness levels from anesthesia and communicate updates to the medical team
- Obtain and record patient vital signs and observe for anesthesia side effects
- Administer medication for pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms as prescribed
- Maintain accurate EMR charting, patient files, and medical records
- Educate patients and families on post-surgery care
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility
