Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced IR RN for an acute care Interventional Radiology position requiring cath lab experience and IABP proficiency.
Details
- Acute care Level 2 Trauma facility, Interventional Radiology unit
- 7 procedure suites total (4 Cath Lab/EP and 3 IR)
- 20+ cases performed daily across all rooms
- Patient population includes port placements, liver biopsies, IVC placements, g-tube placements, PICC and central line placements, and neuro cases (coiling, thrombectomy, embolization)
- Anesthesia supports neuro cases
- Daily staffing includes 1 RN and 2 techs in IR; Cath Lab staffed with 1 RN and 3 techs; EP team varies 3-4 staff
- STEMI call team includes 1 RN and 3 techs
- Schedule is 4 ten-hour shifts per week (7a-1730) with a rotating day off; 5x8 schedule (7a-330p) may be considered
- Weeknight and weekend call rotation required, approximately once every 3 weekdays and every 3rd weekend (Friday-Monday)
- May be required to take holiday call
- Call response time is 30 minutes
- No floating required
- Uses Cerner and Merge EMR/equipment systems
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
- IABP experience required
- BSN not required for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include verifying orders and consent, performing head-to-toe assessments, patient education, room setup, circulating cases, administering moderate sedation, assisting anesthesia providers, continuous hemodynamic monitoring, and documentation
- 2 team leads manage scheduling and staffing and may assist with staffing as needed
- Unit orientation typically includes 2-3 full days of training/shadowing with a buddy call; no call responsibilities during the first week, buddy-assisted call during the second week, then independent call thereafter
- Scrubs are provided by the facility; candidates may wear their own scrub caps
- All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
- Former Marshfield permanent employees are not eligible for this position
- Local candidates within 80 miles of the facility are accepted at a reduced rate
