Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift position requiring cardiac-trained expertise and a willingness to precept new staff.

Details

• 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry Unit
• Cares for patients with significant cardiac disease history including chest pain, CHF, advanced heart failure, and syncope
• Supports patients undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, diagnostic and interventional heart catheterization
• Handles specialized procedures such as Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR
• Unit may overflow to generalized med/surg or non-cardiac patients as needed
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• 13-week assignment length
• Priority floating to Med/Surg required when needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) required
• 1 year of relevant experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Current ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• NIH Stroke Scale certification may be required depending on unit group assignment

Additional Information

• Assist in stabilizing staffing on a unit rebuilding its core team
• Will be expected to help train and mentor new hires, including RN Residents
• Cardiac-trained RNs with strong engagement and mentoring ability are preferred
• First-time travelers may be considered if experience requirements are met
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate under facility radius rule
• Radius rule varies by state and facility location
