Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring cardiac surgery and advanced heart failure experience with TX or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in a 28-bed Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) within a hospital setting
- Patient population is 80% cardiac surgery and 20% advanced heart failure, including open heart recovery, heart transplants, LVAD implants, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT patients
- Utilizes Swan Ganz catheters and CCO monitoring
- EMR system used is Cerner/COMPASS
- Shift schedule is 06:45-19:15
- May be required to float to MICU, SICU, or Medical/Cardiac Stepdown units as needed
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- Current ACLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- Preferred experience with cardiac advanced device therapy management, including at minimum IABP, Impella, or Swan-Ganz management
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address
Additional Information
- Deliver direct patient care as an RN, implementing and monitoring individualized care plans to optimize patient safety and recovery
- Administer physician and nursing orders promptly in compliance with regulatory standards
- Lead discharge planning efforts in collaboration with patients and the interdisciplinary care team
- Navy scrub color required
- Radius rule applies and may affect pay rate eligibility for local candidates
- Extension conversations with management should begin approximately 45 days before assignment end date
