Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience and AZ or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Float between the Emergency Department and CDU (Observation Unit)
• Working in CDU until 9/20, then assigned to ED or CDU thereafter
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Meditech charting system experience preferred but not required
• Every other weekend required
• Orientation held every Monday
• Blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• ESI certification preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skills needed include pediatric and psychiatric emergency care, IV therapy, respiratory management, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with neurological emergencies and ortho trauma care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across general adult/pediatric, trauma, and non-trauma cases
• Support patients presenting with conditions ranging from respiratory infections to traumatic injuries and psychiatric emergencies
• Orientation includes non-billable modules
• Holiday coverage required
• First-time travelers accepted if they have more than 2 years of ED experience
• Travel pairs accepted
• Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
• Locals and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
• RTO should be kept as minimal as possible and submitted upfront
